Description | Special letters of administration of Joseph Carpenter of Brompton Park, Middlesex, gardener, deceased, granted to Hortensia Searle, 17 Mar 1801, with annexed copy of his will made 26 June 1723 and affidavit of Joseph Stanevix and John Swinhoe on the handwriting made 13 Oct 1726. It is recited that probate was granted in 1726 to Joseph's wife, Ruth Carpenter, and Charles Dartiquenave and Jacob Tonson, but that Dartiquenave and Tonson renounced their right of probate and executorship of the will, that goods were left unadministered, that by two letter of administration in August 1732 were granted to Hester Swinhoe, daughter of Joseph Carpenter, that none of his legal representatives were alive and that Hortensia Searle, widow, was the daughter of Hester Swinhoe.
