Description | Indenture of lease by Sir Henry Puckering alias Newton of the Priory in or near Warwick, baronet, to Samuel Mallary of Kenilworth, husbandman, of a messuage and several closes of land called the House Close (1 acre 2 roods), Tanners Closes (3 and a half acres 14 perches) the Cow Pastures (46 acres 3 roods 25 perches), Stockfish Fields (37 acres 3 roods 20 perches) and the Oxleasowes (40 acres 2 roods), all in the parish of Leek Wootton, and several other closes called the Broomfields (37 acres 2 roods), the Little Packmore Meadow (3 acres 1 rood 13 perches) and the Square Meadows (9 acres 2 roods) in Woodlowes in the parish of St Nicholas in the borough of Warwick, and a close called the Long Meadow (5 acres 2 roods) and two closes adjoining the Long Meadow (5 acres 1 rood 8 perches), the last three closes being commonly called Smiths Meadows and part of the land commonly called the Priory Land (reserving all timber, trees, etc for all the premises), to be held for a term of 21 years, at the annual rent of £90, with an additional £5 for each acre of the Cow Pastures ploughed, for each acre above 60 acres of the other premises ploughed and for each acre ploughed with more than 4 crops in the homeward close of the Cow Pastures and more than 8 crops in the rest of the premises. 1 November 36 Chas II 1684 Endorsed with the word "Priory".
