DescriptionCounterpart indenture of lease by Matthew Wise of the Priory in the borough of Warwick, esquire, to William Birch of the Woodloes in the parish of Leek Wootton, yeoman, of a messuage, with all barns, stables, gardens, etc, in the Woodloes in the parish of Leek Wootton, and several closes called the Broom Fields, the Little Packmore Meadow and the Square Meadows in Woodloes in the parish of St Nicholas in the borough of Warwick, and the Long Meadow and Smith's Meadows, part of the Priory Land, then divided up into 19 closes called the Rick Yard, Little Park Close, Further Park Close, Ash Tree Close, Quarry Close, Copper Close, Six Acres, Lime Kiln Close, Upper Ox Leys, Lower Ox Leys, Rough Pit Close, Long Close, Seven Acres, Ten Acres, Upper Warwick Hill, Lower Warwick Hill, Windmill Meadow, Rough Meadow and Broad Meadow, containing 186 acres 1 roods 10 perches (reserving all mines, quarries, minerals, trees, fishing, etc), to be held from 25 March last for a term of 1 year and from year to year so long as both parties think fit, at the annual rent of £279, with additional £10 for every acre of ploughing up the closes called the Orchard, Green Pleck, Rick Yard Close, Little Park Close, Seven Acre Close and Long Close, and £10 for every acre sown with rape, hemp, flax or woad, with several provisions or covenants for termination, husbandry, maintenance, etc.
Endorsed as being a counterpart lease of Woodloes Farm.
