Description | Counterpart indenture of lease by Sir Henry Puckering alias Newton of the Priory in or near the borough of Warwick, baronet, to George Warner of Lillington, yeoman, of a messuage, 3 barns, stable, garden, orchard and yard, with a closes divided into 2 parts near the yard called Home Close (3 acres 2 roods 13 perches), a close near a messuage in the occupation of Elizabeth Newbery, widow, a close called Orton (1 acre 2 roods 29 perches) and three yardlands (c108 acres) of arable land etc, then in the occupation of George Warner and reputed to have been occupied by Barnaby Avery and then Thomas Eaborn, all in Lillington (with reservation of a cottage occupied by George Newbery and all woods, underwoods, etc to Sir Henry), to be held from 25 March next for a term of 21 years, at the annual rent of £22 10s, with an additional 5 shillings for each rood ploughed of land which had not been ploughed "within the Memory of Man". 1 Jan 1683 35 Chas II [by modern calendar 1684].
