Description | Indentures of lease by William Busby of Loughborough, Leicestershire, gentleman, and Anne his wife, daughter of Humphrey Tomlinson late of London, milliner, deceased, to Thomas Povey of the parish of St Martin in the Fields, Middlesex, esquire, of several pieces of copyhold land containing 11 acres, being part of the Squabbs and Middle Gore in the manor of Knightsbridge with Westburn Green, abutting the road from Knightsbridge to Kensington, for a term of 31 years from the Feast of the Annunciation [25 Mar] 1715, at the annual rent of £22 10s, in consideration of £19, with plan of lands attached. 1 July 1689 1 Will & Mary Endorsed with memorandum of the same date of a covenant for the lease to be ratified and confirmed by Tomlinson Busby, then aged 7, the second son of William and Anne Busby, when he reaches the age of 21. Also endorsed with assignment by Thomas Povey to George London and Henry Wise, in consideration of £130 secured in a bond of 28 June 1686 and the further sum of £251 12s 6d, 20 July 1692.
