| Description | Indenture of lease by Nicholas Chowne, gent, to John Puckeringe, esquire, both of Aldenham, Hertfordshire, of a messuage in which Elizabeth Chowne lives, several parcels of freehold land called the Orchard, the Butts Field and Porters Close and parcel of freehold ground near Wades Lane, and several parcels of copyhold land held by licence of Robert Stepneth, esquire, lord of the manor, comprising a meadow in the field near Wades Lane, ground in the Butts Field, Sympsons Gate Close and Down Hedge Close, and fields called the "Tyelandes", all in Aldenham, Hertfordshire, to be held from the death of Elizabeth Chowne for a term of 20 years 11 months, at the annual rents of £20 (£8 8s 4d for the freehold and £11 11s 8d for the copyhold) for the life of Nicholas Chowne and £16 (£6 8s 4d for the freehold and £9 11s 8d for the copyhold) after his death.
