DescriptionIndenture of agreement between Sir Hugh Middleton of London, baronet, and Sir Thomas Middleton of London, knight and alderman, and Sir Adam Newton of Charlton, Kent, baronet, for the handing over and proper accounting of monies deriving from the offices of His Majesty's Secretary, Clerk of His Majesty's Counsel, Clerk of His Majesty's Signet for His Majesty's business in the Principality of Wales, north and south Monmouthshire, Worcestershire, Herefordshire, Salop, Gloucestershire, Cheshire and Flint and in the Marches of Wales, granted by Letters Patent dated July 9 Jas [1612], reciting that William Bowdler of Ludlow, Salop, gent, had been appointed by Sir Adam to receive the monies collected by Richard Hall of Ludlow, Salop, gent, and that then Sir Hugh and Sir Thomas were appointed by Sir Adam to receive the monies from William and properly account for it before handing them over to Sir Adam himself.
