| Description | Born c1618, son of Sir Adam Newton, inherited the baronetcy from one of his brothers in the early 1630s. He assumed the surname Puckering, following the death of his cousin Jane, daughter of Sir Thomas Puckering in 1652, whne he took over the family estates. He died 22 Jan 1701 with no surviving children, the estate passing to his wife's niece, Lady Jane Bowyer. |
