TitleLetter from Ernest, King of Hanover, to Sir Jonathan Wathen Waller, with envelope
Date15 Feb 1838
DescriptionLetter (341/78), written from H [probably Hanover], addressed to Phippy: thanks for his missive received yesterday: his placing more faith in his opinion than that of "the Chevalier de la triste figure" [Alexander], who seems to him to have acted injudiciously in the whole case by putting off the operation, with the strain it put on her optic nerve, which he knows from personal experience: report of conversation that morning with Dr [?]Spangenberg who attends George and assures him of the benefit he sees of his last course of sunbathing and the appearance of his eye since then: George anxious to go near the sea prior to the operation, his general health being excellent and his strength prodigious, able to walk "for eternity": the weather dreadfully cold, keeping him from riding: his being forced by his business to lead a sedentary life, not suited at all to his nature: hopes of his being well and of hearing from him.
Sheet, with 3 pages of text.
