TitleLetter from Ernest, Duke of Cumberland to Sir Jonathan Wathen Waller
Date13 Nov 1826
DescriptionWritten from Berlin, addressed to Phippy.
Sorry to hear of his labouring so much with his old complaint which forces him to Hastings, with hope of the magnificent summer having carried off all the pain: his having travelled 1500 miles and scarcely slept two nights in one place: the weather having favoured them much during the ten weeks journey, with only 3 days rain: having with him Reverend Mr Jolly, as tutor to his son, and liking him, a great acquisition: his having attended Waller's balls at Twickenham with great delight: return of Waller's family from the Continent, being due, with his sympathy at their absence: remembrance to Lady Howe: request to hear of the present state of his brother's health, of which he cannot get any accurate acount.
