TitleLetter from Ernest, Duke of Cumberland, to Sir Jonathan Wathen Waller
Date12 Sep 1832
DescriptionWritten from Kew, addressed to Phippy.
Apologies for troubling him again, with Thornton not executing the commission he gave him: George, unknown to Ernest, having struck his eye yesterday with a piece of ivory or bauble at the end of his purse, and taken his lessons this morning without complaint: after dinner his playing with his wheelbarrow and all at once saying he could only see its wheel, but later going out shooting, and shooting a rabbit: his complaining since of only being able to see from the side: his eye having been bathed with warm water and rose water which the boy says did much good: request for waller to call tomorrow morning and see what ails him: his bruised eye now seeming to be bloodshot and the eyelid swollen from the blow: his being much provoked that he had been unaware of it when Waller called, as he would have asked him to look at it.
