Receipt of two letters, including one misdirected to wrong division: hearing of his bening named as an adjutant in the Gazette: expectation of new Colonel, believed to be Wellesford: account mother of wedding of Mary Willes at Kingsutton [Kings Sutton] having gone well: his inability to tell more about the sergeant from whom money could be recovered, as he had been shot long ago in the trenches: future sending of photograph and sketches of the Bosphorus and the Sebastopol (done when on piquet duty): return of corporal and five men taken prisoner at Inkerman: rumour of expedition staying at Kinburn for a month with garrison of it by the French over the winter: hope of his things coming out soon before the cold and rain: shooting from the fort to the north being unpleasant, the Russians being able to hit any part of town.
