Informing him of his son having had an accident, though not a dangerous one: the order by doctors for him to keep quiet for a few days: account of a steeplechase on Monday, with his son being among a number of spectators cantering from one jump to another, when an officer of the 88th, "rather unceremoniously rode over him": his being conveyed to the surgeon of the 88th and soon recovering his senses, having received a stunning blow: his being sure of George being able to write to them himself in a few days of his perfect recovery by the next mail, having received aletter from them: his living in the same hut and being able to keep him quiet: promise of letter from him or George in the next mail.
