Hope for receipt of 3 letters sent by her after George's accident on 10, 16 and 23 Dec: expectation of a note from Dr Watt of the 23rd Fusiliers about him: her understanding of their anxiety for two days on a newspaper account reaching them before the paymaster's letter: her not writing earlier because of not hearing about the accident for some days: her thanks to Sir Thomas for his letter and her indebtedness to him, including about insurance of property: 8pm, arrival of note from Dr Watt, with fear that George has not been as careful as he ought to have been: wish to keep secret from George about her having written: concurrence of Dr Jameson with Dr Watt about George, even though he has not seen him.
