Return from the Monastery: visit to the Colonel, who had received his father's letter and advised and strongly recommended him to go home: doctor to send a certificate for 4 or 6 months leave: trust of his parents not putting difficulties in the way if hostilities begin again: it being his farewell to the Crimea, if there is to be peace: no expect of seeing them for 2 or 3 months: being glad of hearing the things he left at Winchester being at the Pantechnicon: their theatre going well, with a dress rehearsal that night: some of the siege train going home, with bands making a tremendous row.
