Following up on Sir Wathen's letter of a year ago,on the Cotgreaves pedigree: his putting an enquiry in "Notes and Queries" and having a reply leading him onto information of a man named Spence perpetrating extensive frauds in connection with the Cotgreave pedigree, with Sir Wathen's great-grandfather possibly one of his victims: the four generations Sir Wathen gave being identical with those of Berry's Buckinghamshire genealogies: Close and Patent Rolls extracts compared with the Philipot and Berry pedigrees, showing up inaccuracies: his opinion of there being no connection of David de Wollour (derived from Wooler in Northumberland) with the Waller family: possibility of his coming to England, with wish to see his great-grandfather's pedigree papers.
