DescriptionLease and release between John Harris of Cradley, brickmaker, John Jones of the same place edge tool maker, (devisees in trust and executors of the will of John Tay) of the first part, William Tay of Cradley, maltmill maker and eldest son of the said John Tay, deceased of the second part, Henry Round of Halesowen, Shropshire, glazier and Mary his wife, John Tay, maltmill maker, Nancy Tay, Martha Tay and Sarah Tay, spinsters, all of Cradley (which said Mary, John, Nancy, Martha and Sarah are the five younger children of John Tay, deceased and legatees named in the will) of the third part, John Bourn of the fourth part, John Townshend of Cradley, gentleman of the fifth part and Thomas Meredith of Cradley, lithesmith of the sixth part. John Harris, John Jones and William Tay convey land in Cradley with the two houses built on it to John Townshend for £168. £57 of the purchase money is paid to John Bourn in redemption of a mortgage and interest owed to him on the property and the remaining £111 is paid to John Harris and John Jones. The remainder of the mortgage term is reassigned to Thomas Meredith. John Harris and John Jones are to hold the £111 in trust for Mary, John, Nancy, Martha and Sarah Tay, according to the will of John Tay, deceased.
