TitlePhotograph of Maxstoke Castle
Date7 Feb 1920
DescriptionPhotograph by Country Life. Within the north-east angle of the courtyard. The corbels in the wall prove that further buildings had originally stood against this north wall as well as on the south and the west sides. The corbels supported the floor joists. The photograph also shows the most unusual crenellation which provided slots for shutters to protect the arches mounted on the wall parapets. [File- Maxstoke]
