DescriptionPacket of letters and papers relating to disputes between the Hospital and their tenants about their respective obligations to pay tax on Hospital properties, especially the rectory of Napton-on-the-Hill, leased to Thomas Field, including copies of 2 orders of the Committee for Safety of the County of Warwick and the City and County of Coventry, 1644.
Also order of George Weale, mayor of Warwick, and James Prescot, to the assessors of the royal aid in Balsall, Hampton-in-Arden and Knowle, that the Hospital revenues are not to be taxed, 1665;
draft notice of the Hospital's intention to appeal against their assessment to the window tax, 1768;
memorandum of an agreement between the Hospital and William Cleaver their tenant at Napton, whereby the Master and Brethren undertake to bear the cost of any lawsuit by which he may be hindered from keeping '96 sheep, ten cows, a bull and a breeder' on the commons of Napton, 1697.
