TitleContemporary copy of an inquisition before John Barton senior and John Barton junior, concerning the manor of Radstone
Date1404
DescriptionThe jury states that Henry Percy, earl of Northumberland, and Matilda his wife (now dead) granted the reversion of the manor of Radstone (then held by John Windsor for the life of Alice, wife of William Windsor) to Thomas Percy, earl of Worcester, after the death of Alice, and if Thomas died without heirs to William Melton, knt, and his heirs, as appears in a fine of 21 Richard II [see CR0457/81/3]. The jury also states that Thomas de Percy took possession of the manor after Alice's death, until its forfeiture, and died without male heirs. John de Melton, knt, aged 24 and more, is the son and heir of William de Melton, now deceased, and the manor is held of Nicholas Wodhill as of the barony of Wodhill.
