Description | Between William Fairbrother of Burton Dassett, farmer; Richard Fessey of Wormleighton Grounds, grazier; John Fessey of Stoneton House, Northants, grazier; William Fessey of Farnborough, maltster; and John Aplin of Banbury, Oxon, gentleman. Recites the fact that John Fessey, late of Stoneton House, grazier, now deceased (father of the John Fessey that is a party to this deed), owned the title to a cottage. Recites the will of John Fessey, dated 18 January 1830, in which he devised the remainder of his estate (after specific bequests) to his friend Jonas Welch of Wormleighton, grazier, Richard Fessey and John Fessey, and that William Fairbrother was later substituted for Jonas Welch in a codicil to the will [see CR0457/35/8]. John Fessey died in September 1832. In this present indenture, William Fairbrother, Richard Fessey and John Fessey convey to William Fessey a cottage with a homestead in Farnborough, formerly occupied by Mary Duckett and now occupied by the Overseers of the Poor of Farnborough. It is declared that the property is exempt from any dower that might be due to any future wives of William Fessey. Consideration: £110
