William and Mary Hickson conveyed to John Greene a messuage and a close adjoining a messuage in Farnborough, which was mortgaged for £40 (by demise for 1000 years) to John James, gent, by an indenture of 20 December 1682 [see CR0457/13/34], and which was later transferred to William Jones on 29 September 1686 [see CR0457/13/35]. The £45 owing on the mortgage formed part of the purchase money of the premises. £65 Endorsed: William Hickson shall have the use of a lodging room in the messuage and passage to and from the same for the term of his life.
