DescriptionThe messuage lies next to the Fosse Way on one side and extends to the land of Philip Halford on the other. The toft lies on Milcroft near the land of the Rector, and is called the Fenelyord. They are given all the aforesaid with other lands and tenements in the same place, as a gift from Thomas Smyth. To have and to hold to Thomas and Johanne for the rest of their lives, of the chief lord of the fee, for the customary services. After the deaths of Thomas and Johanne, the lands and tenements are to pass to Robert Smyth, son of Thomas and Agnes his wife, and the male heirs of his body, to be held of the chief lord of the fee; if he has no male heirs, the premises are to remain to the heirs of Thomas Smyth. Witnesses: `sir' John Steven, parson of the Church of Oxshil, `sir' Henry Kynnesbury, parson of the Church of Halford, Philip Halford of the same, Thomas Marchall of the same, Thomas Meleward of the same and many others.
