Description | The lands referred to are Grand Slade Close, Pitt furlong, Redland Close, Long Fen Close, Long Fen Meadow, Upper Hollowbrook Meadow. This land was purchased by Sir William Boughton to 1690 with the money gained by the sale of his wife Mary's (nee Ramsay) moiety of the Manor of Bowers Gifford in Essex. In 1713, Sir William Boughton divided this land between his elder son Edward, and Shuckburgh, his eldest son by his second marriage with Katherine Shuckburgh. Includes map of Great Holbrook 1694. |
