DescriptionAttached is a copy of a jointure made by the Earl of Hertford and others on the marriage of his grandson with Frances Devereux, the sister of the Earl of Essex, in which the Earl covenanted that before Trinity term next he would levy a fine on the Manor of Monks Kirby and the manors of North Perrot and Kingsbury in Somerset, and all appurtenances, to the use of William, Frances and their heirs, 20th January 1616.
Attached is a copy of the Act of Parliament passed to enable William, Earl of Hertford and Sir Francis Seymour, his brother, to alienate certain lands for the payment of his debts, including the manor of Monks Kirby (1624).
