| Description | Willans Lines was originally a journal for the English Electric Apprentices Association at Rugby and later on for the Rugby and Whetsone sites (June 1956 - September 1961).
The second version of Willans Lines (September 1981 - December 2001) was published for the staff on the GEC Turbine Generators Ltd, Rugby site and took the name of the former English Electric Apprentices Association journal that was published in the 1950s and 1960s.
By 1989 the site was known as GEC Alsthom Turbine Generators, Rugby and by 1991 as GEC Alsthom Electromechanical Division LST [Large Steam Turbines] & MTM [Medium Turbo Machines], Rugby. The name was changed again in 1995 to Alsthom Power Generation Division LST & MTM, Rugby and to Alstom Energy Ltd, Rugby in 1998. Two further name changes came in 2000 (ABB Alstom Power, Rugby and then Alstom Power, Rugby). |
