Date24 Jul 1620
DescriptionHenry Mathew of Murcote Hall, gentleman, has conveyed to Thomas Oughton of Fillongley, gentleman, Hasell Grove or Three corner Grove in Allesley, Lady Wood in Corley and Corley Wood in Allesley and Corley. George Mathew, Henry's father had granted Thomas Renford of Longdon, Worcestershire esquire and another an annuity of £80 during the natural life of Mary now Henry's wife for her use in recompense of her jointure: Henry has acknowledged a statute merchant in £140 to Thomas Oughton. It is covenanted for defeasance of the statute merchant that if Oughton enjoys the above property without claim being made on it for the annuity of £80, that then the statute is to be void and of none effect.
