Description | Agreement that a fine will be levied between William Jessap of South Rowsby, Lincolnshire and Elizabeth his wife (one of the daughters and coheirs of Stephen Fowler, late of Killesby, Northamptonshire, clerk, deceased) and Anne Fowler of Shawell, Leicestershire, spinster (another of the daughters and coheirs of Stephen Fowler) of the first part, Thomas Smith and Elizabeth his wife of the second part and Thomas Kirke of Shawell, clerk, and Joanna his wife (another of the daughters and coheirs of Stephen Fowler) and Henry Ireson of the third part. The fine to be levied on a messuage, on several pieces of land being one fourth part of one yard land called Hall Land, and on a parcel of meadow ground called Oate Hill Slade all lying in the lordship of Killesby, which were previously in the occupation of the said Stephen Fowler and are now in the tenure of John Ody and which were lately purchased by Thomas Kirke and Joanna his wife from William Jessap and Elizabeth his wife and Anne Fowler. The fine is also to be levied on a messuage and adjoining close called Lamas Close and upon a close called Sheep Close, both of which are situated in Lilbourne in the tenure of William Mathews and were lately purchased by Henry Ireson from Thomas Smith and Elizabeth his wife. The fine to be levied in order to bar any entails and to better secure Thomas and Joanna Kirke's ownership and Thomas and Elizabeth Smith's ownership of their respective properties. |
