DescriptionThe land in three parts divided containing in all 51A 1R 38P and called Great Ground and the two meadows (which was granted to Job Baseley at the time of inclosure in compensation for 1.5 yardlands and some odd lands) with the oxhouse and hovel thereon (1600-1775), 1779.
The early deeds and papers mentioned prior in date to 1687/8 are missing and the property was in separate parcels until it was all bought up by Job Baseley in the early 18th century; Job's descendants, Thomas and Henry Baseley, sold it to Job Allett in 1775. Allett in his turn sold the property to William Weston, Simon Oakden and their trustee in 1782.
Bundle also contains copy probate of will and codicil of Job Baseley, senior, of Priors Marston, gent., made 1718 and proved 1732; copy will of Job Baseley of Priors Marston, gent., 1745 and receipts for legacies from his daughters Sarah Baseley, Spinster and Rebekah Rolls by her husband Henry Rolls under this will, 1751 and 1752 and copy will of Job Baseley of Priors Marston, gent., made 1774.
