AdminHistory | Anthony Joseph Clark was born 26 Oct 1902, and baptised at St James Parish Church, Ashted, near Aston in Birmingham. His father was George Joseph Payton Clark, his mother Harriet Clark; his mother appears to have formerly lived in Small Heath, Birmingham. Anthony Clark married Ida M Purcell in 1930, and they had a daughter, Patricia. In 1939 the family were living at 233 Rugby Road, Leamington Spa, where Mr Clark's occupation was listed as a Clutch Installation Engineer. It is likely he was working for Borg and Beck of Leamington, a consolidated company of Automotive Products. He was also serving as a Special Constable. At some point it appears he joined the sales team at Borg and Beck, as documents are addressed to him in 'Sales'. We know from the electoral registers that after 1965, but before 1967, he and Ida had moved to Barford, Warwickshire. His death was registered in Staffordshire in 1971. Ida's death was registered in Leamington in 1976. Patricia married and became Patricia Bott; she died in 1993 around the Stoke-on-Trent area. |
